Mount Vernon: The Cultural Hub of Baltimore

Mount Vernon is located just north of downtown Baltimore and is home to some of the most beautiful and well-preserved architecture located on the East Coast of the United States. Mount Vernon is a designated National Historic neighborhood anchored by the Washington Monument, which is surrounded by four small picturesque parks that beckon visitors to take their time and enrich their lives. The parks, which have survived almost intact, are considered to be the finest existing urban landscapes by the beaux-arts architectural firm of Carrere & Hastings.

Mount Vernon-Belvedere, as it is known, is a cultural urban village that boasts museums, music, theater, international cuisine, boutiques, festivals, and a thriving night life. Located just a half mile south of Mount Vernon lies Baltimore’s famed Inner Harbor; home to such institutions as The National Aquarium, The Maryland Science Center, and M&T Bank Stadium and Camden Yards. To the immediate north of Mount Vernon lies Station North; Baltimore’s ever-developing Arts and Entertainment District.
