From the Manager:
Good day,
It
was an honor to host so many mothers and their families this weekend
at our 2nd Annual Mother’s Day Brunch. It was well attended, and, by
the many compliments I received, enjoyed by all! As you all may be
hearing, I have a passion for special events. I have always enjoyed
coordinating parties, weddings, and all sorts of celebrations. I
particularly get excited when planning menus and themes, and the
decorations and colors and flowers that go along with making an event
memorable. I feel very fortunate to being able to begin to coordinate
such events at the Club. I hope the excitement about these events is
contagious and the word continues to spread. And I look forward to
working with the Entertainment Committee to planning and executing
many, many successful and memorable events in the weeks and months
ahead!
Regarding upcoming events, there are several events
coming up that were not originally scheduled.
Please
make your reservations and bring your friends to these NEW events:
- Thursday
Happy Hour, June 1 and 8 will feature a BBQ from 5:00-7:00 and
Trivia from 6:00-7:30 in the courtyard.
- Wednesday,
June 14 will be our first of the year Wine Dinner highlighting
California “Burgundies,” a comparative of chardonnays and pinot
noirs and a California themed coursed dinner from Chef Paul.
These
and all our events are listed on our NEW website. While it has
another week or so of “construction,” I wanted to unveil it early
because it is much more user friendly and attractive. My staff and I
will be fine tuning and working on all the links and flow of the
website over the next week or so but let us know if you have any
suggestions or comments.
Lastly,
thank you to everyone that returned the Member Data Survey. We need
100% participation in this, so if you haven’t completed it yet,
please do so. You can email or mail it back to the Club, or fill it out
next time you are at the Club. https://online.flippingbook.com/view/209853718/
We also have had great a large number of ballots cast
for the next Board of Governors to be elected this Thursday, May 18
at the Annual Meeting. It’s not too late to vote or make reservations
for the meeting. There is one more mailing you should receive this
week: the annual endowment fund request. Thank you in advance for
your attention to and support of this important fundraising.
Remember
the Courtyard is open for dining, carry out is always available,
(including Catering Delivery to Greenspring every Friday afternoon!)
Thank you for your support and patronage of The Mount
Vernon Club. The staff and I are at your
service.
